I did the same thing as you. I subscribed to the small cap investigator newsletter. I decided to make a small commitment and see how it went. It cost me $99 for a two year membership. I didn't buy any of their recommendations but I did follow them like you did. A few observations.
    1. They send a lot of promotional emails. I repeatedly asked for them to stop. They didn't reply to my emails and they didn't stop.
    2. Some recommendations do end up providing very good returns. Some did quite quickly but in some cases you have to wait up to three years and be down a lot at different periods before they did so. It is debateable whether many people could stomach very large drawdowns and hang in there.
    3. They are currently pushing pot stocks and cryptos. They seem to latch onto the latest trend and pump it vigorously. A current promo says : Welcome to 2018s pot stock frenzy.
    4. If I had invested an equal amount in every recommendation over the last two years in the small cap investigator newsletter (up to December 2017) I would have lost more than I made.
    5. When you go to their website there is no information that a potential subscriber can see about their success rate or the audited returns for their recommendations. Other share trading services like Share Wealth Systems routinely provide this information.
