Tuberculosis Program Managers Meeting - The Department of State Health Services held their annual TB Program Managers Meeting on October 3rd through the 5th. The most significant topic for the health district is the initiation of Quantiferon Gold use for TB diagnosis by January of 2008. This is a blood test to take the place of tuberculin skin testing on qualified patients, such as those with a history of receiving the BCG vaccine in foreign countries and health care workers.
