I believe it is pure scheming by the majority of people who are joining this class action
The trip began well enough, aside from an overflowing toilet and cabin keycard difficulties. But about halfway into the voyage, the two friends began to suffer the awful symptoms of the dreaded norovirus.
The last outbreak of Norovirus highlighted recently in the media was a NZ cruise - 8 to 10 day incubation period.
I reckon someone got on the ship with this bug prior to its departure from Bris. with people having to fly home from Auckland after 3 days would suggest that.
The Sun Princess had previously been struck by a norovirus outbreak on a cruise to Papua New Guinea.
I believe that was the cruise that is mentioned in your link.
I was on this New Guinea cruise where the media claimed about 90 people - out off approx 1800 passengers - came down with the Norovirus. The media tried to make a feast out a famine. We just laughed after seeing this crap on TV that afternoon. It turned out that most had the influence virus when data came out.
Your comments about 2 hour turn around is way off the mark. That ship arrived at 6am and all passengers had to be off by 8am. It wouldn’t leave before 14:00, more likely 16:00 to NZ
“I feel quite strongly it was already on the ship when we got there and that was my biggest issue,” Mrs Thomas said.
Always a possibility but unlikely!
My theory in my previous post has more credibility. I also mentioned some improvements that should be enforced.
“They should have given us that information, and we could have made an informed decision as to whether we wanted to go.”
My recollection from what I saw on TV is that the ship was delayed for at least 2 hours after it scheduled departure time. I also believe it had to get clearance from the Qld health department.
I find it difficult to accept the lady’s comment that she wasn’t informed for the delay in departure.
Its not like passengers are allowed to get on whilst the sanitation is being carried out.
If there was the lack of communication it would be more likely the port’s contractor who handle the embarkation
processes.
I could BS and join this greed driven class action.
