BCL's court action against ABG, page-30

For the benefit of everyone would you tell us what responsibility BCL had for/in the civil war that followed the closure of the mine.
Putting aside the community work that the company has done since closure why should it feel responsible for the victims of the war? If the company was considered responsible don't you think that some action might have been taken in the intervening 28 years? It is a complex issue but the responsibility for the victims lies with others.
And don't forget that PNG achieved independence in 1975, just three years after the mine commenced operation and 14 years before the mine closed; not exactly colonial times.
