    Hi ML 173 and all,

From an engineering point I think nuclear power is the best thing since sliced bread. My problem with it all is I don’t trust my fellow man and we have had far too many incidents around the world including the UK.

Strange the UK buying this kind of technology from China a country that has yet to master the art of hardening and tempering steel and manufacturing a hacksaw blade that will last more than a couple of hours. As an apprentice fitter I would get six months use out of a British made hacksaw blade, yes, they are half the price but I see that as regress not progress!

Would you be happy enough to have a nuclear waste dump next to your home and or your kids school? Are you aware of the waste left by the American military in our backyard?

“Britain has been trying for years to secure a site with the right geology and local communities which would volunteer to host a £12bn geological disposal facility (GDF), as a long-term solution for the most dangerous waste from nuclear power stations.”

“Marshall Islands: Concrete dome holding nuclear waste could leak. RISING sea levels and a catastrophic toxic fallout threaten Pacific paradise as the dark legacy of US nuclear tests looms large.”

Don’t forget this stuff hangs around for more than a couple of years, there are certain things I will never invest in on ethical grounds such as nuclear, tobacco and marijuana; however, if you have no problems with your conscience or it only stretches to specific parts of the Amazon rain forest I guess that’s up to you. But don’t try and take the moral high ground because in my humble opinion in may make you appear both hypocritical and foolish!

By the way here’s a link to a story your trouble and strife may enjoy.

Rafael Marques spent years exposing atrocities in the mining industry
 Revealed how men were beaten to death by army and private guards
 Others were tortured because they could not pay the $20 bribes
 Angola produces about nine per cent of the world's diamonds

It’s a pity you weren’t sharp enough to get on board the BBX train but better luck next time .

Cheers and very best regards: Andy
