Mrs Tibbs, I think because at the current price Uley isn't in the game, even if they could sort things out over who owns the assets and operates them. At $1 a KG, it hardly covers the cost of sewing up the bags and freight to Adelaide to ship, much less cost of digging it up, refining it, and drying it before bagging. That's even AFTER getting the processing plant to actually work...which they ain't yet!
It was all conceived around the 2012 pricing, assuming declining Chinese production would result in stable or increasing prices and good demand, but unless the hoped for increase in demand outstrips the low cost production coming onto the market, Uley will be in mothballs for awhile yet. Hopefully, in the meantime, the machinery wont rust up as much as it did inbetween the last two attempts to get it going! And our shares will be worth something when it does.
