Splooge, I think your comment on owner operated is incorrect. GBF have the underground contract and provide all gear except airleg equipment, the open pits load and haul is completed by WATPAC who provide all load and haul equipment.
Staff members did take a pay cut (approx. 7.5% from memory at the time) in 2013-14 which was in the period where jobs were scarce in the Goldfields as both nickel and gold headed down and the whole mining sphere was on a negative trend. Sentiment now in the jobs marketplace has very much picked up industry wide, especially for skilled underground workers . We are starting to see a surge in opportunities as new mine sites open around Australia.
