Can clear up some confusion. I am experienced in a telco giant. Narrowband IoT is a networking concept currently being standardised by many big players. But as a concept, imagine broadband, but narrow. ie low data throughput. A slice of the existing mobile network dedicated to massive machine to machine communications. Characterised by a very large number of connected devices (machines with SIM cards in them) transmitting a relatively low volume of non-delay-sensitive data. IoT is internet of things. Think connected car (not self driving), connected house, connected billboard, connected cow (not a joke), connected security camera, connected crane, connected police officer, connected you-name-it.
