I agree with your speculation. The USD is tanking right now which is always good for precious and industrial metals. As these metal price are rising so will the AUD just dulling slightly the rise in the SP of the gold miners. But they will be still appreciating at a good rate.
I'm targeting the USD falling and the metal prices rising (and so gold stocks) till mid March before the first multi week pullback.
