SDI is net cash. Which is partly why I am certainly happy holding at this level and would expand my holding if it got much cheaper. This company is very cheap with an EV around 70% of earnings.
Although I greatly respect travelightor I am going to have to go against the crowd and say that I don't believe NCK is high quality. NCK is a discretionary retailer, with admittedly good management, that has had it earnings juiced by a once in a century housing boom. That is not to say that madamswer or travelightor won't make good returns on NCK, I just don't think it is a top quality company with enduring competitive advantages. Comparing SDI to NCK is a bit like comparing apples to oranges, but SDI has some defensive characteristics not apparent in NCK. Much of SDI's product is not discretionary*.
* I like having teeth and would pay a large amount to keep, more so than a new sofa.
