This is a comment I posted in regard to electric vehicle technology on another forum. Although it is specifically related to ev tech, I think it would apply equally to wave energy tech:

"But also a growing issue with EVs is technology obsolesence - something we didn't see as much of with ICE vehicles. But take a typical BEV - 2 years after purchasing it a new version of the same model might have 40-50 more miles of battery range for the same price as the older (when new) one + the autopilot or AV technology will have progressed that much further."

I think technology obsolescence is why C5 was superseded by C6 (single tether) and in turn why that model was superseded by C6 (multi tether)

What we need now, is for the improvements that have been made to C6, to be such that the world's attention becomes focussed on our technology and that future improvements only need to be incremental.
