My reading was interpreted as that they tested their ideas in a difficult tight coal seam, hoping that it would be a cheap answer. The old vertical holes were already in place. However the tight coal won, but in the process the board was satisfied with the engineering plan, which apparently they knew was working in similar better conditions for other explorer/producers. Q1 2018 is the start of a repeat trial in a better coal seam, which is apparently known to be more typical of the rest of the whole Glenaras location. Success is supposed to prove up the whole resource as a new large CSG field worthy of a pipeline etc. to the East coast. A pipeline MOU partner has been announced.
