Hi Bigsky Yours truly Redstone Metals takes a big interest in your view of the Pilbara conglomerate gold story and your in depth analysis is appreciated. I pegged Western Shaw for lithium -will there be LCT type pegmatites- yet to be determined - historical lithium 20 km north at Tambourah - 1.47% Li20 recently reported by MML on TSX - some fairly large pegmatites only 6 km north of E45/4960 - lithium reported by MML on the southern boundary -southern part of the Soanesville wedged between two granite batholiths. E45/4960 apart from some very limited iron ore exploration by Atlas represents about 15 km of a greenstone belt virtually never explored. Recorded nickel on 1:100,000 -old MC's on Wamex - large areas of historical alluvial gold to the north. My review shows conglomerates in the Strelley Pool chert conglomerates -don't excite -but historical research shows in the eastern half in the centre of the Western Shaw belt across a high strain zone strongly flattened ,steeply dipping sandstones and pebble conglomerates. No MRB but imagery seems to show similarities. Is the iron ore in the Cleaverville - are there gold bearing Honeyeater Basalts beneath the Cleaverville which some prospectors are saying -like a the PIO tenements -are substantially gold bearing. Many questions - lithium is hot and I am optimistic - conglomerate gold a possibility -possibly sulphide nickel and cobalt associations ! Only a few years ago no one considered we had much lithium -how it has all changed.
You are correct about E46/1169 -a ballot -I pegged all those areas including Pilbara Goldfields for high cobalt values in historical Anglo stream sediment sampling conducted when I first worked the area in 1969-70 ! Now MRB on GGP ground - and extending into E46/1169. Of course lithium potential too in the Panorama belt but no one gives that a thought. Finally the Pilbara is on the radar screen -lots of work to do but the old adage 'if none would have looked none would have found" is as true today as ever. Cheers
