I think the big issue with radiology is the quality of the medico / radiologists.
I need to have an MRI screen next week. My nearest MRI is North Shore. I have been sent to Randwick much further away because to use my specialist / surgeons words, the NS MRI people have missed some cancers, the Radiologists at Randwick are more reliable.
If this is known amongst the Specialist surgeons etc, it seems to me that radiology centres should employ the best radiologist people and radiology practices should not be owned by radiologists. If CAJ sold because it may have had some 'dud' or lower quality radiologists, then the structure of what CAJ bought in NSW was all wrong. Maybe the is why CAJ is now looking to buy into better quality radiology clinics. That seems to be what their announcement was saying.
I had a Cardiac Calcium score done at I-med Chatswood NSW . I-Med Chatswood ws recommended by my GP because IMED have a good cardiologist on staff. He met with me after the procedure and showed me through the images and where there was a partial blockage which could be life threatening in the future. That is why I am back on statins.
It still does not explain why the performance of the NSW radiology clinics could not be improved.
