As recently as July 2017, ME valued the Perth Basin Unconventional gas to be worth $3.3B to AWE on an unrisked basis but only assigned $87M on a risked basis.
As far as the Chinese are concerned I expected It's a bit like buying a fertile valley for a beaded Necklace!
