A belated thank you @eshmun for the effort that went into that post. In referencing Elura (or Endeavour as it is known today), I realize you are not suggesting we have found an equivalent, however we can dream can't we? Many years ago I was an underground shift boss at Elura and I recall the richness of the ore body. It was necessary to thoroughly hose down all the walls and backs other wise during firing a sulphide dust explosion would accompany the blast and blow up all the vent duct causing it to shrivel like a packet of Twisties left in the hot sun.
The original Elura resource you listed of 45MT @ 8.5% Zn, 5.3% Pb and 69g/t Ag roughly equates to three times the metal value of Nova-Bollinger and importantly the value per tonne of the Elura ore at todays prices is about $430 compared to $390 for Nova-Bollinger. Considering Independence Group paid USD$1.4 Billion for Nova in mid 2015 I wonder what a new Elura equivalent discovery would be worth?
