If you had a parcel of 1400 shares now (at a price of 16c), after consolidation you would have 100 shares at $2.24.
The advantages are that the daytraders will exit the stock, causing stability of price; and institutions will be attracted to it, as they tend to prefer, for psychological reasons only, higher-valued stocks.
