According to their website, CCE is collaborating with some 30 academic, industry and research organisations globally.
Many of the research projects are supported by grants from various sources.
The ATO doesn't differentiate between expenditure from loans, cash raisings or grants. In effect the company can be given money to spend on R & D and then apply for a refund of 45% on the money they have spent from that grant.
It is hard to keep track on what and how much CCE is spending on R & D but on Ceto 6 alone it would be substantial.
Microgrid technology will open up boundless opportunities in R & D, so further support from the ATO can be expected.
