Oil exists everywhere in shale rocks . This is not success. Success is extracting the oil so that you generate more net revenue than it costs to extract the oil. You say you work in the industry but your commentary doesn't suggest much knowledge.
As for what I would choose to be . The self appointed saviour or the guy who kicks pumping the stock only to see those who have listened ( hopefully not many ) carrying 30% 50% and 80% losses , I would much prefer to be the self appointed saviour. The pain is about to get worse when the next CR happens which will diluted all assets by another 25-35% , with the funds used for 1 well at best
