Nano, the single most useful book on investing I have ever found is Graham & Dodd's Security Analysis, which dates from 1940 !!!
Benjamin Graham taught Warren Buffett.
It is encyclopedic and will take you a while to read and absorb. It is very good on calculating the worth of out-of-favor companies. It lays out the intellectual foundation of what came to be known as value investing.
For inspiration and sheer fun, try to find 'How I made $3,000,000 on the sharemarket' by Nicholas Darvas.
