Reece is the kind of company Berkshire Hathaway would buy, for the following reasons: 1. Long-term family owned and run Main Street business which is easy to understand 2. Wide moat (large number of DCs, scale, ownership culture within the business) 3. Prudent capital management and smart acquisitions If there is a housing downturn, Reece will circle the wagons for a few years and make some timely acquisitions, these guys are playing the long game and are prepared for the actions of their competitors. They are also a very data driven company, why do you think this "Men's only" business recently appointed 2 female tech executives to the board? I have a significant chunk of my SMSF in Reece and have bought this stock with the intention of dying a Reece shareholder. A few lean years are of no concern, it will merely allow them to emerge in prosperous times even stronger than before.
