Patrick, there is no reason for doubting Elleburra's statement that he does, in fact, hold shares in CST, but I really cannot see why that should be relevant to the discussion. The right to have our say about a company is not contingent on owning shares in that company. We all have reasons for buying, or not buying, at a point in time, and our assessment will change over time.
I am intrigued by the suggestion that we should "have faith" in a company, and that, if that faith is lost, we should sell our shares. This sounds dangerously close to falling in love with a company which, (to my cost) I have found to be a good way to lose money.
Maintaining a watching brief is a valid investment approach. After all, is buying back in again logically different to adding to an existing holding?
But by all means, keep the discussion going. I never had much time for Chairman Mao, but I agree wholeheartedly with his words:
