The strainer in the top of the tank gets the leaves. You would be surprised how well it works. The "y" section works better than the "t" I first tried.
The wet section slows the water right down allowing the finest of particles to drop out of suspension.
This one has been in place for six years and you can still see the bottom of the tank.
Once we are not expecting rain for a while I take the drain cap off to leave it dry to stop mosquitos breeding in it.
