WHILE you can tell from street level that parts of the southeast are undergoing major transformation, getting the full picture with the really big projects isn’t so easy.
Until now.
To celebrate its upcoming 10th anniversary, aerial imagery company Nearmap, has released images of two of Queensland’s major development projects from the air.
Nearmap CEO Rob Newman said with Australia’s population tipped to 48.3 million by 2061 major infrastructure was needed to cope with growing demands.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics Queensland is one of the fastest growing states with its population growing by 75,400 people in the past year.
“In the last 10 years at Nearmap, we have witnessed the progression of some of the most innovative and impactful development projects in Australia’s history,’’ Mr Newman said.
“We’re in the unique position of being able to regularly capture and monitor the construction going on around our country from above, and it’s been incredible to see these big ideas take shape over time.’’
