Options provide more leverage than the heads (JRV) because you can buy more options for the same amount of money. They're much less liquid than the heads as you can see from the market depth of JRVOC. The options usually trail the heads by at least the strike price, in JRVOC's case 5c, which is payable before mid June 2018 to convert them to JRV. You can pay this amount anytime before then to convert.
