G'day,
I just thought that there may be people out there who would like to actually discuss CST, rather than the childish backbiting that seems to have gone on in the existing CST thread. Hence I have started a fresh thread.
Of course the other alternative may be to look in other places where such discussions are already taking place.
For example, this document from the highly regarded Mayo Clinic.
http://www.idsociety.org/Content/ContentGroups/Annual_Meeting1/2006/Presentations3/IDSA06-0092_BinnickerMathew_1.pdf
This paper not only strongly states that QFT is far more sensitive and specific than TST but is also cheaper.
And this article posted on the CST website yesterday.
http://www.cellestis.com/irm/Company/ShowPage.aspx?CPID=1350
This article discusses the effectiveness of QFTG in diagnosis of latent TB in the immunocompromised (an important market). This article appears to have been authored by CSTs recently appointed, and highly regarded, GLOBAL MARKETING MANAGER, Dr Roy Kumar.
