Sounds good option for a public superfund. Might join you.
Currently my super is locked into cash...I don't trust superfunds nor the market presently and it's my intent to pull all funds as soon as I have accessthink a couple of years from now. Always one that has believed if my wealth is to be lost best be by my own incompetence not the incompetence of faceless uninterested fee chasing corporate third parties. Understand tax benefits but have a fairly btoadbased equity portfolio and shares are a relatively small overall proportion...maybe 5%.. also in pretty envyous position of being debt free and intent on remaining that way.
Anyway I don't agree about taking a fixed view to any share portfolio....but as a vehicle for choosing an active platform to hold equities...sounds good.
I've previously thought of creating a private super fund...think I was looking at e-super for this specific purpose i.e. share holding trade vehicle for attaching tax benefits but never got there...lot of paperwork and only recently consolidated my two super funds into one...absolute pain in the proverbial...mind you I only hold about 100K in super and size counts!
Having read your post though I will research it more closely and if it meets my criteria can foresee trasferring current consolidated super to this fund if I get the flexibility you're talking about.
Overall sounds great but would never hold any share without closely monitoring it's performance. 18 years is a long long time...anything could happen.
So best advice IMO is always keep close eye on your dosh...nobody else is going to...all you'll get is excuses and deep sympathies...little recompense for any big pecuniary losses me thinks...think GFC scenario!
