    citizenship debacle.
what a crock of poop, isn't it?
there are so many other important issues concerning Aust, yet the politicians just want to score points.
    eg the media reform.
it seems a bit ironic imho.
here is the parliament arguing about whether our duly elected members are technically Australians - yet here we have the media reform proposals waiting on the parliament, because the reforms are needed because of the undue influence of non-Australian media interests?
So we have real Aust standing in parliament, people who have lived in Aust all their lives, being subjected to technical issues by self-interested parties - when the real aust is looking for those very same people to do something about the real threat of real non- Australians. (did that make any sense?)
streuth- all they have to do is refer ALL parliamentarians to an independent body to look at all their bone-fides. Get back to business whilst that is underway. Get back to work.
The issues arise because that is the very nature of our muti-cultural society now. Nothing new.
    cheers
