WELLINGTON, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Consumer confidence in New Zealand rebounded in August after a dip the previous month, a survey showed on Thursday.
The ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence index rose to 126.2 from 125.4 the previous month. A reading above 100 shows optimism, while below that indicates pessimism.
Low unemployment, recovering dairy prices and a high New Zealand dollar making imports cheaper had buoyed household optimism, ANZ economists said.
Expectations for consumer price inflation over the next two years eased to 3 percent from 3.4 percent in the previous survey.
