Ionic in The Australian and Fundraising Update
Following a successful rights issue, we've garnered some wonderful coverage in The Australian. We're now onto the next phase of our fundraising and accelerating our research programs and commercialisation strategies.

It’s been a few weeks since we closed our recent rights issue, but we've been busy and today we've been recognised with some excellent coverage in The Australian.

This coverage is sure to support our ongoing capital raising efforts. On our fundraising to date, we are delighted that, at this stage, we have exceeded all expectations. So, an enormous thankyou to all who have invested to support Ionic's growth and ongoing efforts to commercialise our incredible graphene technologies.

Nearly 450 people took up their rights or subscribed for new shares under the general offer, raising a total of $730,000. This broad-based support for our work is a resounding endorsement of our exciting technologies and demonstrates the wide appeal of our offering for a range of investors. The amount raised so far will cover all of our existing obligations and all of our committed research expenditure for the next 8-12 months - so it's a great start. We are now in the process of selling the shortfall from the rights issue to raise up to a further $2 million. We are working with the highly-respected boutique Melbourne firm Beer and Co to support this phase of capital raising, which will last until mid-September 2017.

For those who participated in the rights issue, we're sure that you're keen to claim your tax benefits under the ESIC scheme. We are currently finalising the process for claiming your entitlements with the Australian Taxation Office and we'll reach out to you separately once we hear back from them.

On our research programs:

• Work continues on our water and waste water treatment program; the focus is now on exploring up-scaled production methods and driving down costs of the final products
• On our graphene supercapacitors, we are focused on integrating supercapacitor manufacturing with our roll-to-roll membrane production capabilities, ensuring that our supercapacitors can be mass-produced, not just lab-scale science experiments. We are also currently exploring possibilities for partnering with industry-leading companies to introduce this technology into real products
• On graphene oxide production, we have been working with our partner Laminar to confirm the effectiveness of our processes with different equipment configurations to ensure that we can deliver the most efficient GO production for our clients.
