It makes perfect sense to diversity and expertise in to a new commodity can always be hired bought . Depending on the asset , if it's in production most of the operational staff would be there.
The market reaction and SP movement will depend on the asset , if it's attractive institutional funds will flow through and those selling will be swept aside . At every minute there are those selling and buying , what happens to SP following an acquisition will be determined by the ratio of positive vs negative current holders and the amount of new prospective holders
