If someone was willing to hang on this long, and news should be imminent at this stage, why let go so close

There are so many reasons why someone might sell. We're in spec territory, maybe a seller found another spec runner. One sells there's always lemmings that follow. It's not necessarily going to be because they have inside information. Let's also not forget the marketcap of this is just over $3mill. There's not really much excess for it to drop substantially from here (subject to further cheap placements). But yes we always must keep in mind this is a highly speculative stock looking to mine in a highly speculative area. Doesn't really get much more speculative so whilst gains can be large you also have to be prepared to lose your whole investment in the worst case scenario. I find patience is the best approach with these types of plays.
