When you suggest that the company has been kept going to pay wages you completely ignore the large amount that Ruane himself has invested. His own money dwarfs what he has taken in wages and super.
Not only that, he is still buying stock on market. Now he may be completely stupid but he may still feel that the old girl has some life left in her.
