I don't get why people sell the share now before the financial year to offset the gain the earned. As far as I know, if you hold the share more than 12months and the gain will be eligible for 50% cgt discount. So why sell it at a loss to save the highest marginal tax of 49% I am assuming you earning $180k a year.
