9th May 2017: Crown Resorts exits Melco Resorts and thus Philippines and Macau via Melco. Of more significance, Melco announces it will go solo with Japan casino license bid.

Does this mean that Crown will go solo? Find another Japan partner? Will no longer make a Japan bid?

One scenario is that Crown needs the money and is staying "at home" in OZ, given its China debacle and its on-going impact-the full extent of which is yet to be revealed! And may not be for several years to come.

Another scenario is that Melco wants to completely distance itself from Crown.
