Chalcopyrite (copper) is the mineral in the primary or fresh rock zone, the zone unaffected by weather etc. It's the main copper source with mining.
Bornite (also copper) is a mineral that's in the transitional/supergene zone. Usually that mineral is chalcocite (also copper) , but here it's bornite - same sort of thing but different. It's richer than c'pyrite as a rule, and by quite a decent measure too.
Horseshoe Lights vms mine had both chalcopyrite and chalcocite as did DeGrussa. But Monty has a great big dollop of bornite instead of chalcocite which I'm sure surprised SFR. Read about Monty's bornite on either the SFR or TLM websites.
I'm just surprised that it's bornite and not chalcocite that's all. Both are GOOD though, but it comes down to quantity in the end.
It is good news!
