I notice Coeur have taken political risk insurance over Bolivia - covers 85% of potential losses.
Checking their 2006 Annual Report I see Coeur are spending US$119 million constructing a mine in Bolivia this year.
Why does BSG want to incur the high political risk involved in operating in Bolivia? Does anyone know what Morales will do? It just does not make sense.
Is it just possible with the sharemarket action we are now seeing - that someone is trying to build up a stake with the aim of blocking this merger at the BSG meeting or making an alternative offer?
Still only about 1% of BSG traded though.
