It's not a problem. All LNG projects in QLD needs to buy gas from either its owner or from third party.
If STO and its third party agree to merge or STO purchase the production field from third party, would STO escape the blame?
The government agree that GLNG can source its gas from domestic to sell overseas, that's why they built the plant. They know that the owner (or to be exact, its shareholder STO) can only sell certain amount of gas to the GLNG. STO is a 30% shareholder of GLNG.
The government failed. The government can fix it but the limit of gas export for example have to be shared among all project in this country. East or West coast, we share the responsibility. Or otherwise, let the market run its course. imo.
