In reply to Shady Merv you said Butchers Dog turned out to be nothing much (so far) and in a sense that may be true but a balanced & fairer take, is as follows;
Quoting Rob Tyson loosely many months ago he said to me that the target;
"Butchers Dog" was an important one to drill however as Mallee Bull exploration focussed to the north and west as I recall, they were chasing shallow ore (which they certainly found) in high grade zinc and lead etc so it was concluded that the pragmatic economics of Mallee Bull generally was to mine this shallow lead and zinc (and other mineralisation) on the way down to the Butchers level.. as it was much cheaper to drill it once "down there" rather than drill it relatively expensively from the surface.
It's common to chase into the best ore once on the spot so perhaps Merv may now better appreciate this history, knowing that it's not over until Butchers can be far better assessed when we actually down there to dig through it.
