NT stations cut off by floodwaters after deluge, page-3

remember in 86 there was a crew of house painters working at Elizabeth Downs station who used to drive across the Daly river crossing each afternoon to the Pub , one day their ute a near new Hilux 2wd dual cab petrol , conked out in the middle of the crossing. they walked to the pub but by the time they came out a few hours later all they could see was the roof .It spent the wet under many meters of water, It stayed there for nearly 3 months & when they were able to retrieve it the paintwork was covered in scratches made by crocs investigating their new toy. Yes the wet is  a lot of fun but it is a much needed event that sets the season up for the rest of the year .
