Mechanic- OK , let's say you get the population increase.
all that means is that Woolies builds more new stores . it doesn't mean same store sales growth.
in any capital city, established Woolies and Coles stores get about 5% combined same store sales growth.
all readings of results are only interested in same store sales growth. Woolies was pathetic last time, but did show marginal improvement.
about the only clue is the WES interim result which is always earlier than WOW.
if COLES get close to 4% same store sales, then SELL, SELL, SELL WOW as there is only around 5% population growth at Max, and that means less than 1% growth.
