Gttrain- it's not just petrol that WOW are losing money on.
it's the same old story- shareholders get excited before the actual results announcement. that' why the SP goes up temporarily.
the main issues are still at large - Woolies trying to get back Same Store Sales growth without overly price discounting and BIG W showing a positive turnaround.
selling the petrol division to BP is neither here nor there , and it needs govt. approval anyway.
my take on Woolies future success is generic or 'home" brand label product. at the moment it is absolutely pathetic compared to Coles. that is probably why Aldi is so successful. they only have "home brand" product , but they can "sell" the product to the average consumer as brand label due to brilliant marketing.
