That's the beauty of a higher gst and no income tax.
Unless you grow your own food, make your own fuel, power your own house etc etc, you will be paying tax through every purchase, thus being and end user.
If the big end of town wants to spend up big good. They will be paying more tax.
Every one needs to spend on living expenses.
I would rather have the money in my pocket and chose if and when I want to pay extra tax by buying the items allowed for in any disposable income.
Or I could just save more by not spending on those things.
Most people spend what they earn. So a higher gst and zero income tax will give people a feeling of greater control over their money and feel they are getting a better deal from taxation.
