There are some possible positives with this acquisition , but it seems strange AKK have not mentioned them or maybe I am just naive but here goes and if I am shot down in flames thats ok:
Possible positives :
Hardware recycled - drill strings and donkey pumps could be reused on AKKs current property
Florence oil wells close to current boarder with AKKs lease could be redrilled in the lower section with a deviation into AKK's lease for a reduced cost as the vertical section of the drilling has already been achieved .
AKK could water inject the florence wells , although IOG could also have done that to increase production .
Actually I am ambivolent to this acquisition , as it is a clapped out drained oil field , but may have some promise , my guess is they drive through the field every day to get to their own leases and got greedy and wanted to buy it
AKK really needs to get its overall cost per well down, and flow rates up , I doubt if this is the way to do it .
Prefer if they fan drilled 4 deviated laterals from the base of each vertical to get costs down .
