Seth, on you 3rd chart, grey line (comm total spread) on 24/May was lower than today (more shorted), but gold bottomed and ran hard. So, I am not sure if we can use it for timing of the gold price bottom. Also a year ago all commodties and SP500 bottomed approximately together. Now sp500 and IO, coal, copper, zinc, oil - all going up, but %-sensitive bonds and gold are going down. Gold is a bond-proxy at the moment...
