re: comparison with emi HYO is a services firm/consultancy specialising in creative and technical consulting. EMI is more like an online media-buying agency.
There is some crossover but its the difference between media buying and creative/production in the advertising world. Some ad agencies will attempt to provide all these functions, others will specialize. Clients can and do cherry pick in any case.
From what I know of HYO it is moving towards the IT/media consultancy side of things (more comparable to SMX perhaps).
Strategically EMI is looking to provide a buying/planning service across all media, HYO a technical/creative service across operational functions and industries.
