I am unsure if HC is the right place to post this question - but perhaps there is someone with similar experience who can help.
My son has a failed business (all his own handiwork) which has left him with a substantial debt to the ATO, comprising an unpaid Income Tax debt and an unpaid GST debt.
He potentially faces the prospect of voluntary bankruptcy in order to start again.
Does anyone know whether the unpaid GST debt is discharged by voluntary bankruptcy. It seems to be unclear.
