There are certainly some synergies between the two businesses.
a) Both have Trust businesses
b) both have FUM
c) PPT has private wealth management and IFL has advise.
d) IFL has the platform, PPT has the funds
e) PPT is located in Sydney, IFL is located in Melb.
It would also created economies of scale for the combined business to compete with the big boys.
Working out who would be in charge of what is probably the biggest issue as I suspect that there are lots of big egos (and pay packets) to manage.
As a small shareholder, all I can do is sit on the side lines and watch what is happening.
