Given that BRG is really a designer and marketer of products rather than a retailer or a manufacturer, this looks like it is the company flexing it's muscles within the competitive landscape. I am in agreement that increasing spend in this expense line is a positive - let's just hope the market disagrees for a while.
So far the new leadership seems to be doing well. The AGM address is coherent and has a consistent flow that shows their is no confusion in the direction of the company going forward. The next few reporting periods will determine how effective they can be with execution.
As a perhaps irrelevant side note - I got a sense of the Silicon Valley tech scene when reading through the presentation with the new product releases. Note the picture of the queue to get the latest BRG product release. Not totally surprising when you consider the new CEO's background.
