I suppose they could ban all gambling in Australia...and drive it underground. NOT.
Gambling is in the psych of Australians, Asians, Europeans, Russians, Yanks, Africans, Arabs and South Americans..in fact it is the second oldest trade in the world.
Much better to regulate and earn a royalty on the way through. Bottom line, authorities may not like it from an ideological point of view, to be put in the same bracket as prostitution and drugs, but better to know where and when it's happening than not.
WA have the right idea confining it solely to a single casino. I'd much prefer that they banned pokies in pubs, if they wanted to do something proactive, to be honest, than ban outright. A noble thought but it ain't happening in our lifetime
